Mine would be a 3 inch Python
Would anybody shoot their GRAIL GUN or just take it out of the safe and fondle it ?
Nice!!! Congats!Got it! S&W 25-5 “Classic”. Now I have to wait 10 days to pick it up. They only had one. This one has obviously been handled. There is a small scratch on the barrel. Their other stores in San Diego and Ontario had one each but I am not driving 100+ miles in the hopes the ones at the other stores may be perfect. I am very happy with my acquisition. I paid $100 less than MSRP, so no gouging. I cannot wait to pick it up.
It appears to have Altamont Roper grips.

Is that one the 45 Colt or ACP?
Saweeet. I passed up a nickel plated 25-? In 45 Colt not too long ago. Long story but should have grabbed it on the spot cause it went from 650ish to 1350ish over night. Literally.
Happens every time I want to sleep on a purchase decision.
On a less lofty note - this past year I've been secretly pleased to NOT run across a TRR8 from S&W given what folk will want for them these days - when found.
When/if things return to *normal*, I'll likely buy the first reasonably priced one that I can hold in my hands first. I've passed on a couple of internet listings already.

Thanks for that for sure, but, after reading a couple of hands-on reviews, I'd like to be able to inspect one prior to popping for it.Todd, Grab-a-Gun has the TRR8 in stock now. I got an email a little while ago. They want full MSRP of $1360.00 for it.
I posted this in the “.357 Double Action” thread a few minutes ago as well.
I saw a .22 a few years ago on gunbroker marked US POSTAL SERVICE. it went $sky-high$. It was pristine. For me, being as I have a love for matching rimfire/centerfire handguns,,,
My Grail Gun is a Smith & Wesson Model 45.

It's a plain Jane S&W K-frame,,,
Essentially a Model 10 chambered in .22 LR.
The last one Is saw on Gunbroker was in pristine condition,,,
The buy-it-now price was 2,300 bucks.
Back around 2005 or so,,,
I had the chance to buy a very nice one for 900 bucks,,,
I foolishly passed on it and have been kicking myself ever since then.

Yes, but you can mate a DS 2" barrel onto a Police Positive (.38 S&W not special)and voila you have a square butt BSWhat’s your holy grail revolver? Make it a gun that you do not already own but wish you did. Give enough description that someone can look it up and investigate it if they wish.
Mine is the Colt Bankers Special 22 lr. These were snub nose revolvers built on the Police Positive Frame which is the frame size that was lengthen to make the Police Positive Special to accommodate the 32-20 and the 38 Special which the Detective Special was built on. These were kind of the AirLites of their day but all steel construction. At it’s lightest in the 38 Colt offering. Good clean ones go for a pretty penny.
