Home made parts=US parts (saiga conversion)

After reconditioning a cracked Mosin Nagant stock, I am considering making a stock and pistol grip for my Saiga. I am wondering about the US parts count. I would assume that a part made by hand is a US part, but I want to be sure. Has anyone done this? An AK stock doesn't look very complicated, and it looks like a good first stock project. Ideas?

If you, or anyone, make it in the USA, it's "Made in the USA".

You might take a picture while it's in progress, for CYA purposes, but the ATF should be able to ID it as not imported.
