Went out to the West Desert here in Utah on Friday night with my Bother-In-Laws. We were out there to shoot various guns and the occasional unlucky rabbit that came to close.
We set up 5 bowling pins out about 20 yards, and we were timing with a stop watch how long it took from the first shot, till the last pin dropped. I decided to try the MAK first. My mak is just out of the Cosmoline last week, and I have never fired one. I stepped up and dropped the first three pins with the first three shots, then I got going too fast and missed 2 in a row. The the next two shots downed the remaining two pins. Scored a time of 9.3 seconds, which wasn't such a great score compared to later, but I was impressed that I could do that well with a new gun.
The Mak performed flawlessly through approx 200 rounds no FFTs or FTEs or FTanythings. I enjoyed the Mak. It is a keeper.
We shot several different guns/calibers at the bowling pins. These included an XD9, a Springfield Loaded 1911, a CZ97, a Kahr K9, and ofcoarse my new MAK. The best time of the day was my Brother-in-law, Doug, shooting my CZ97 at a time of 5.43 seconds . Consistantly the best times were obtained with the CZ97, followed by the XD9. I was very impressed by those two guns.
