There is a difference between the store meat buyer and the hunter. A hunter appreciates his food much more since he/she was an integral part in getting the food. Kind of like the difference between an adopted child and your own child. Or from a vegetarian point of view... store bought veggies vs your own backyard garden.
But eating the meat is the largest reason I am interested in hunting, I truly believe it is a great connection to the natural world. Reminiscent of ancient man and bringing out the primitive animal predator in humans.
And yes, it is not respectful of nature to not eat the animal.
