Sharing shooting with friends/family and educating people about firearms is the only way we are going to keep this right. Good for you for bringing someone into the light. :)

Thank you, sir. It's cool - after we got back, Linda, my fiance, and another of their friends went out for some "girl time" and when my girl got back, she told me how Linda kept talking about how good she shot, and how long it took her to try to knock the center out of the one target, and on and on...

The other girl they were with is...I wouldn't say anti-gun, but she doesn't like them, and doesn't see the the point in having guns. She's said before that she'd be happier if they were never invented, which gives you an idea of her mindset. Both my girl, and Linda both started to work on her though, lol. We're trying to plan another trip to the range soon, with yet another of our friends who's never shot before.

Good times!

Well I got back from the range just now, showing my dad how to shoot for the first time, and we had a great time. Since we're in Illinois, my dad is in the process of getting a FOID card and then he wants to buy a pistol. We shot a 9mm and he was actually doing pretty well towards the end.

He said that he wants to go to the range together at least once a month now, since he had such a great time. Hopefully he will tell others and they will tell others, etc. He's got a lot of friends that we could potentially take and add to our side.

He shot pretty well. Towards the end of our time there, he was shooting at the target from about 15 yards and keeping most of them on the paper. They were a little scattered with most of them going left of the center, but for a first time, I was pretty impressed.

I like to post inflammatory and insulting remarks because I'm kind of dim.

Now we can all hope and pray that an Anti with power to shut us down does NOT get elected!

I just wish I knew who it was!!!!

I think that regardless of who's elected, we'll have more to worry about as a country than who gets to keep what guns and where.

Thanks for your comment East Texan, but I'd appreciate it if we could keep the political comments out of this thread. They have a tendency to turn a thread sour pretty quickly. Nothing personal, just my preference. :)
