I've had a Hornady LNL AP for a number of years, I can't even remember when I got it, but it's been years. Today I broke a pawl and the machine is out of order until I get a new one. I called Hornady and they answered quickly. I explained that I'm a heavy handed caveman and that I broke it. The guy laughed and said he's done the same thing, then took my address and said the part I need is on the way. In fact they are sending me two of them.

I'd always heard they had great service, but until today I'd never had a need to test it. I'm quite happy with them. Good customer service is something to talk about, so I am.

Actually compared to the average consumer product reloading related items have a stellar replacment policy. I have needed bits and pieces from Lee, RCBS, and Lyman over the years and have always been more than pleased with their response. Many other industries could take a page out of their customer service handbooks. Happy Hornaday is the same as the others.

I actually think it is a reflection of their customer base. We are straight shooters.

I had one of their newer hand priming tools go south on me. They requested I send the unit to them for inspection. After a couple of weeks, I received a new unit.

It did cost me the $10.00 postage, but I'm satisfied with that.

They CS is as good as Dillon's.
I called them with and off the wall question about timing on my AP once and they wanted me to send it to them so they could go all over it and replace any warn parts. They were already writing the mailing label when I told them that my press works fine.
Talk about eager to help.
It's really nice to know that we have that kind of support from the reloading press companies we deal with.

I had the opposite experience. I had ejection problems with my LnL AP and they said my base plate was warped and to go buy a new one. They gave me a part number for the "upgrade" kit for the old LnL and it inlcudes a bunch of other parts I dont need and it was $130. When I asked "doesnt this thing have a warranty" and they repluied "only for defects in manufacturing" I ended up tossing the press in the old heave ho and never looked back. To many issues with that press.

The only hornady tool that I have is their bullet gauge used for finding the lands. But its good to hear about another stand-up company in this business.

I've dealt with the "hassle" of calling Hornady twice. Once when the primer tube base broke off my LNL AP because someone used it as a handle when they were relocating it on the bench. Entirely my fault but they sent me a new one free anyway.

2nd time was load data reference in an old article for a discontinued bullet. I happened to acquire a pile of those bullets but never could find the Hornady manual it was supposedly fetched from. They sent me a PDF of the data that was out of a 20 year old manual (with the standard start low, work up disclaimer). Sierra has been kind enough to do this as well.

I had one of their case prep tools. It broke after many years of faithful service. I inquired concerning a replacement nylon gear. They said nope. But if you send it in, we’ll fix it for you. I did, they did, and the world returned to proper homeostasis. Hence I have lots of red stuff in the reloading room with their brand on it.
