I bought my lnl ap press on 11/14 of last year from Wideners for $299. I'd heard about their free bullet program but never saw too much on it. I saw a hornady add that said that the qual dates are 11/15/06 - 12/31/07 so I decided to call Hornady and see if they would still give me the 1000 free bullets since I was only 1 day off. They said they would go ahead and honor it. Even at non retail prices, the 1000 bullets still come to about half or better of the price of the press.

I was going to order the lnl classic press by itself from Wideners. Their price is $105 out of stock. Midway and Midsouth is $117 I think. I just happened to see Wideners had an older model of the classic kit for $199 with 5 in stock. I'm guessing the only difference between the older model and the new kit is the reloading manuals as I believe Hornady just updated their manuals. I ordered that a little bit ago. Their is another 500 bullets.

I also ordered 4 die sets from Midway back in Dec. so there is another 400 bullets coming my way. I'm going to be ordering at least 1 more die set and will probably order any dies that I might possibly reload for in the future. They are just about free when you factor in the cost of the bullets.

So for a little over $620 worth of purchases I get 1900 bullets. Not too bad. Now I just need to figure out which bullets I want. I wonder if the Blue Press has that kind of deal and service!?!

Thanks Dave. I kind of feel guilty about sending in my 2 shellplates that I got off of ebay. I don't think most companies like to warranty items you bought used. If I had known there were issues with shellplates at the time I got them off of ebay, I would have never bought them and bought new ones instead.

If you read through the flyer for the Get Loaded program, they say you are saving $245.21 by getting 1000 free 45 hp/xtp bullets. Widener's price is $15.30 per 100. That's still $153 for a thousand. That's half the price of the press! That's one heck of a deal. If I were to buy bullets, I wouldn't pay that much but I'll order mostly 40's and 45's for carry and defense ammo.

Here is the pdf file of what bullets you can get through the program. Pretty good selection. http://www.hornady.com/media/get_loaded.pdf

The best deal going is the lnl classic press by itself. You can get it for $105 at Widener's and you get 500 bullets. You are essentially getting the press for $30 if you get the more expensive bullets.
