Goose Gestapo,

Lil Gun's burning characterics are such that case full loads with 40-45 bullets is only developing 25-30,000 psi. Very low pressures as far as case "work arounds". Velocity don't show this as it is up there where it belongs as well as accuracy.
Your small pistol primers are a very important part of all this equation with a quirky ex-blackpowder case.
Partial sized cases can work, but the firing pin strike can drive the case forward to negate this to a certain extent with a slow burning powder.
All the recipes have their followers and the Hornet probaly more so then others. I hope some solutions work, but I believe the excessive headspace in the Anschutz may be hard to overcome. Thanks for bearing with this. :)

I appreciate all the input, of course. I'm just going to let this one be for now, and deal with it after graduation. I've got a great .223 that's been my primary varmint gun for a while now, I just like the idea of a light rifle for shooting jackrabbits with, since the .223 is a heavy barrel, laminate stock rifle that isn't so good for standing shots.

What diameter bullet did you use? An Anshutz of that era has a bore diameter of .223.
