If it's a ****hole, I've lived there.
I was trolling Sportsman's Guide and came across some 8mm Mauser ammo called "Hot Shot" for $12.77 a box. It would be a good--nay, excellent price if it's any good. Wondered if y'all had ever experimented with it. If it's no good I'll stick with Wolf Gold, which is $15.77 a box. I really wouldn't mind saving $150 a case, though.

ive not found it to be much different at all from the wolf in calibers that ive shot. i would treat it as corrosive though when im done even though it says its not.

I've shot most of their rifle calibers, can't recall having any problems.also reload some the stuff, again no problems. jwr

Um, I hate to tell you this, but hot shot is made by Prvi Partizan...in Serbia...in the exact same factory that makes Wolf Gold. They just slap an american flag on the box instead of a wolf logo. It's the same ammo, and it's pretty decent. I use it in a Mosin, and I buy their brass and projectiles from Grafs. Works great. It's certainly not match, but it's much better than regular wolf.

If you don't believe me, look at the headstamp it will read "nny" on both. It's nice for taking to ranges that ban wolf ammo. The projectiles are non-magnetic, so it doesn't really violate the spirit of their rules, either.
