Texas, baby!
went today, there are some very good buys. a marlin mod 60 for 50 bucks. I bought a Stevens single shot for 50. bucks. Mr. H, a guy who works on ruger trigger jobs, has a pair of beautiful rifles for sale, One is a pristine old savage, short bbl, wood stock, 308 cal, for 300 bucks, and the other I think it was a Sako , 243 cal, just beautiful, with scope for 375, and without scope for 300.00!!!!! wow, if i was in the market for a 308 or 243, these are the two best buys in the show. Plus mr. H. immediately takes the actions apart and does his trigger job magic.

And me with no dinero:( . I went to the Pasadena show last saturday and bought some 158 grn SWC .38 special "plinking ammo" (read remanufactured) for my Colt PPS. I purchased it from a friend that I bought from before..... I started to go to the Houston one but I had no trading stock nor extra money (had to fix my van to pass vehicle inspection:rolleyes: ).

I am heading over there tomorrow. My Dad wants a case of .308. I wanted to see if I could get it without having to order over the internet. Hopefully, there will be some SA available. I know that one ammo vendor is always at this show.

Would really like to go. But no money and nothing to trade. SOOOOOO I'll just go and shoot my new 2nd Model Dragoon. Lots of fun, lots of smoke, and no skeeters!!!:D

I went today and got a Keltec 32. Got there when they opened the doors. I have been to the Reliant show many times - this was my 1st one there...

Has the Astrohall (er Reliant Center) show gotten any better? Last one I went to two years ago sucked. There used to be thousands of tables and the last one was only in the upper 100's of tables. I really enjoyed the huge show at the Astrohall due to the great deals and the shear numbers of dealers.

this show is at the george R. the reliant show is steadily getting better, because now they actually allow ammo to be sold at Reliant. if anyone goes there looking for the two rifles i told you about , mr. h's table is about 2 or 3 rows over from the right side of the show, as you enter. his table is in line with the superstructure above your head, and the support pillars. he has a small table, and he will have mostly his ruger rifles there, his wife is also allways there. if he asks how you new about the rifles, tell him Phil, the guy with the marlin 56, told you about him. Maybe he'll give me a deal in the future!

I went to that show yesterday afternoon and found a nice used smith & Wesson 4" model 10 with a nickel finish at the first table. It was marked at $295, but the vendor agreed to sell it to me for $280 out the door. I've got a real weakness for those old pre-lock 38 special S&W revolvers and consider anything below $300 for a LNIB specimen to be a good deal.

HPJeep - I too went to the show at the Astohall in the 1990s several times. I have gone to the last 3 Reliant SHows. They are not as big as the Astrohall shows were, but they are still the biggest gun show around that I have ever been too.
