How about this for a CCW permit - make sense?

All that does is get you non-resident FL permit and a few others, probably. Florida has reciprocity with a lot of states, not all of which require you do be a resident of FL.

For instance, I recently got my non-resident NH permit, which allows me to legally carry concealed in my home state of PA, since PA law doesn't require a permit holder to be a resident of the issuing state (only way to carry concealed here before age 21). So if you got a non-resident FL permit, you could carry here. But not in NH, because even though NH and FL have reciprocity, NH law does require you to be a resident of the issuing state.

there's nothing too good to be true about it, I took that class, in san diego, ca, the instructors name is william desy. the class is 3 1/2 hours, the $125.00 covers the class fee, fingerprinting for utah, (for florida you have to go to your local pd or sheriff, they'll fingerprint you for a nominal fee), the notarized paperwork for both utah and florida, and they take the photos you'll need for both permits on the spot, all included. the state fees for utah and florida are separate and paid directly to the state, $59.00 to utah, $117.00 to florida. for the florida permit, you need to show the instructor proof of previous firearms training for him to sign your application, otherwise you have to go the adjacent range and qualify, for an additional $25.00 plus gun rental. that's not needed for utah. A good class and a cool guy. both permits combined do allow you to carry in 28 states.

Has anyone figured out what the 'sweet spot' is for picking up non-res permits? What's the maximum number of states you can get with the minimum number of permits? At what point do you stop getting multiple states for a single permit?

28 with only Utah and FL is pretty good.
