Last week I went to the Clerk of the Circuit Court office to pick up my CCW permit. While I was waiting for the clerk to get it, I noticed two business card holders with cards in them. What were the cards?

Get this..

Concealed weapons classes! Two different businesses offering CCW classes. I was stunned. I never would expect to see those at a Court house, especially that carrying in a court house is off limits.

Just thought that was bizarre, but cool nonetheless!

Speaking of weird courthouse things.........

Lo these many years ago when I went to pick up

My marriage license in Portland, Oregon,

I'm going through the labyrinth of the county courthouse,

And finally find a sign which helps me;

It said "Licenses, Marriage and Dog."

True story.

That is funny.

I was just shocked they would have the only two business card holders there with CCW class cards when you cannot legally carry in there.

I suspect the business cards are there to save the Clerk's sanity.

"Clerk, I want to get my ccw thing."
"Oh, I need training? Don't you give the training lessons?"
"Oh, well, um... how do I get this training?"
"Oh, yeah, now I see the business cards. thanks."
"Oh, wait, these are businesses. Does that mean I gotta pay for the lessons?"
"Clerk? Clerk? ...Now where'd she go?!?"

True. Didn't think of that.

Now I feel like an idiot.

Thanks............

:D

Last time I went to the court house get my renewal, having left everthing in the truck except my wallet keys and cane. Some dummy in front of me got arrested for trying to bring a sword cane in.
As Fred would say "You Big Dummy"

How did they discover the cane was a sword?

*I have a mental picture of a can handle attached to sword blade, which is covered by a material resembling the can handle, thus making the entire structure look like a typical cane, but actually it's just a sheath or scabbard or whatever you would call it at that point, and this device contains the blade.

The last time I went to GameStop they had fliers for a concealed carry course. I thought that was a bit odd.

Come to think about it, the courthouse is a great place to advertise a CCW class. You have hundreds or thousands of people coming through who are likely to carry concealed and who easily have the money for a course - lawyers, judges, off-duty cops, etc. Also, it sounds like literally everybody who has a CCW license must pass by those business cards at some point.
