Could use some help on this, because I don't think I get it.
Since background checks are accepted at the dealer level, how do background checks on buying guns from a dealer help to solve or prevent crime?
We don't really have background checks for knives, hammers, or flammables. Why not? Don't these items kill people too, if not more so? If it works well for guns, shouldn't it be applied to anything that can kill another person?
