How do I know some pulled bullets are safe to shoot?

I got some cheap pulled 30 cal bullets. they come with some pulled marks which is ok with me as i am just using them to blast.

how would I know they are safe to shoo though? Do i need to run them through some die to make sure?

"...need to run them through..." Nope. Bullets are just bullets as long as they are the correct diameter for your rifle(.308", if it's a .308 Win, .30-06 or other cartridge using that diameter bullet). The pull marks might affect accuracy, but that's apparently not an issue. Load 'em according to the weight and your manual and have fun.

even if they were slightly out of shape? such as diameter were not measured the same all the way around?

"...slightly out of shape?..." Oval bullets won't shoot worth beans, but they're not unsafe. Likely why they were cheap too. The barrel will actually make them round. There are bullet swaging dies, but that'd defeat the cheap part.
I'm assuming these are milsurp. They're usually lead cored with a copper or mild steel jacket. How far off are they?

I have loaded 1000s of pulled tips with and without pull marks. The thing I watch for is missing missing lead from the rear of the jacket, other than that if I can't see an obvious defect I load it. If you want, you can run them through a sizing die but for blasting at relative short distance why bother.

You didn't mention the type of rifle you'll be using for these reloads. Mine are all battle rifles M1, FN FAL, and 1919a4 all of them do fine with pulled bullets.

I've been running pulled .30cal bullets through a couple of FALs for a couple of years. Cases have caused problems, bullets - never. They do not shoot worth loading in my FN 30-06 though.

i loaded some 7-30 waters to fire form them with 7mm bullets that were pulled with a pair of side cutters!!!!
id have to check my notes on load but i do remember covering groups at 50yrds with a dime!!!!

I've used several thousand of the .30 cal pulls and have never had a problem. However I seem to recall that the vendor said in his ad that they had run them thru a die to assure that they were round. I weighed and sorted a bunch one time and they shot pretty well. The only rub is I can't hunt with them. But they're great for paper. And cheap!
