Kec-Tec P3AT in Mika pocket holster. Will slide into the smallest shorts pockets. Only problem I forget it's there sometimes. I was reading a post sometime back about a guy who left his in his pants that went into the wash. He said it shot fine after cleaning and oiling after going through the wash cycle (ammo included ). I'm glad he found it before it went in the dryer.
I have jogged many times with a Kel-Tec p-32 in an IWB holster, just to the left-of-center inside the front of my jogging shorts/pants. A simple T-shirt hides it extremely well.
CamelBak for right now, but it would take forever to deploy, and where I run I'm by myself. Going to look at a bellyband setup at the gun show tomorrow.
how bout running really fast if they are too lazy to work for a living they'll be too lazy to chase you. I guess you'd need something like a keltec for exercising wouldn't you. light and sweat resistant
Help finding a fanny pack! Some are as big as carry-on luggage. I'd like to have one for my PM9 with velcro closures that won't cost as much as a Coach purse.
ta4 I use the BlackHawk Concealed Weapon Fanny Pack jogging or biking. It hold either my Beretta 92FS or my SIG P229 plus two clips and it has a compartment form my wallet and phone. The picture below shows wearing it front but I always wear it behind. I have drawn my weapon a few times from it with no problem when approached by aggressive dogs while I am out.
When I run on the road I use a fanny pack. However, I am primarily a trail runner, and I run in a local state park, usually with a light hiking pack on my back. I carry in the pack when I go.
Since it's started getting colder here, I don't run as much in the park. I just hike there instead, and when I do, i wear proper pants and a belt with a belt holster.
When I jog I carry a Colt SAA in each hand and let out a fierce battle cry every time I pass someone
Actually I'm facing the same dilemna myself. I'll either try a fanny pack or belly band with a small auto.
I'm not worried about serious criminals here at night, just a few homeless nutcases that chat with themselves in the shadows sometimes. Even most bums are not eager to attract attention to themselves.
One guy, a bum with real initiative, dresses in full camo and has an all-camo campout setup, so he can sleep in the bushes without being bothered. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, just wants to be left alone.
+1 on the Kel-Tech P-32 or P-3AT in a pocket holster.
I know what you mean about forgetting they are there. One time I remembered as I opened the door to a federal building and saw the metal detector. I'm sure I looked really slick just stopping dead in my tracks and backing slowly out of the building.
NAA .22 LR in the clip on holster that came with the gun, and a light locking folder.
I carried the NAA revolver into a gun show, and they had metal detectors ON THE WAY OUT!! Manned by Denver PD in uniform. My CCP was not valid in Colorado. I thought I might have to ditch the gun, but I knew one of the exhibiting dealers who walked it out for me. I pay more attention now.
i've found a fanny pack gets in the way (bounces around, strap loosens), even if you are toting a compact glock 27 and spare mag (and yer wallet and cell phone etc).
with a fanny pack, i sling the strap around my neck so it doesn't keep bouncing around ... i tend not to carry with a round in the chamber ... do be mindful of where the muzzle is pointing.
