Tactical 1911 no but I am dressed like that when I run and I carry my 442 in a belly band.

I must admit I'm a bit unfamilliar with all of the steps involved in getting CCW here in Michigan. I know you still have to go in front of the gun board, though we're shall issue now.

In any case, I haven't started the process yet. First of all, I have to take the training class. There's all of one instructors in my area, and he always seems to manage to have his classes either when I'm in Marquette at school or during my drill weekends.

Once I get that out of the way, I'm not positive what comes next. I think you have to wait for the gun board to meet next time, so you can go before them and (despite being "shall issue") explain to them why you want a CCW. Fortunately, the local county gun board is reputed to be pretty cool about it (whereas the guys in Marquette County are supposedly terrible about it; one of the members, I believe the county proscecutor, got so mad when shall issue passed that he resigned from the gun board).

At any rate, I haven't been in a big hurry to get it. For one, I live on campus most of the year, and I couldn't have a gun there anyway. For another, I don't currently have a real carry gun. While I'm sure I could, in a pinch, conceal my CZ-97 or either of my 6" N-Frames, they're all a tad large and heavy to be trying to hide all day.
