I'm looking for ideas on how to store my soft rifle cases, and for that matter all "soft" items such as gun belts, shooting vests, etc. These things take up a lot of space stacked on shelves or shoved into closets. Not sure there is any great answer but maybe some of you have come up with some good solutions.

i have a small metal tool rack and hang them from the little loop at the end they all have

I got a spare closet in one of our spare rooms. I hang 'em up with shower curtain hangers on the closet rod like a row of old shirts. Same with hunting vests, belts, etc.

bergmen, I thought I had invented that idea. I use chromed open ended ones with the ball on one end. Works great doesn't it?

Soft cases are stacked on a long shelf in my closet. I really only use 2 or 3 of them anymore.

Yep, I line 'em up according to the size, color and type. I probably have a dozen or so cases from a take down for my Browning .22 auto up to scoped cases for my bolt action rifles. Easy to leaf through.

Thanks for the ideas guys! I like the shower curtain hanger concept. I have one of these Metro-rack copies that I could keep in the corner:

However/wherever the "boss" (wife) instructs my unworthy self to do so :) which is usually in the "mancave" with all my hunting stuff.

A row of nails along the back of the gun room closet.
They hang flat against the wall behind all the hunting clothes & winter coats on hangers.

I have them marked on the muzzle / hanger end with a black marker as to length, or what they fit so I can tell at a glance which one I need to dig out.

I was storing under the bed but they were getting covered with dust bunnies, cat hair, dog hair, my hair, etc.

Guess it would help if I vacuumed under the bed more often than once per presidential election.

Hanging on nails in the basement, on the wall, to keep the 15 year old cat from pissing on them. Otherwise they'd be stacked next to my gun cabinet like they were before the pissing started.

I'll have to look and see if they still are in the back part of my two Tacoma's cabs under the insulated bib coveralls, flannel shirts, extra jackets, gloves etc. I haven't seen em in awhile. Matter of fact I'm not sure where the hard cases are.

Out in the garage by the little loops on a long "Rain gutter" nail. And labled with a marker or paint pen, depending on color, for which one goes to which rifle.

Soft cases are on top of the 7 ft highx8 ft long "Gorilla rack" in my storage container (with fishing poles). Next shelf is hard cases and camping stoves and lanterns other rigid plastic boxes. Next shelf is big nylon bags each with camping or tactical stuff, sleeping bags, tents ect. Bottom shelf is chain saws , generators, coolers and heavy stuff.
