All joking aside. They’re a great company. And I think their sales have put ars in more hands than any one else on the market. And pretty decent ars to boot.
I started out working a graveyard. Had overtime pay on my check with no bills I planned on paying with it. So. Auto magically I get Labor Day emails from psa.
Start looking and see their “dissy” upper for 199. Hmm.
Granted. It’s not a real dissy. I can just use it as a cheap rifle gun with irons.
I’ve built 3 actual dissy rifles using spinta precision barrels already.
Welp. Upper. Bcg and charge handle ordered, not bad, 400 total with shipping and the queens tax.
Then I start thinking how I hate faux dissys. So I looked and spinta is out of stock. Crap. Decided to try the del-ton after a good bit of looking. Simple!
Well. Then I figured I need to replace the triangle handguard. Midwest ind to the rescue…
No big deal. Hit midway for sight aperture and spring/detent.
Now I need a muzzle device. Either griffin for my cans. Or a bcm mod 3. Yeah…
Basically I’m only lacking an upper reciever for the whole upper. Bcm blem to the beck and call.
What’s that?? Rainier has sharps bros live wire complete minus stock on sale for 215!!! YUP.

DISCLAIMER
Im an idiot. Don’t do what I do unless you are single or have a pretty forgiving other half. I’m just not telling her. I ordered spongell and Sephora already.

More correctly a Dissipator upper is an AR upper with a 16" barrel and rifle length gas system and rifle length sight system. The original design was the Colt 605 which actually had a 15" barrel. It was Bushmaster that really started using the the term Dissipator for their version. And due to NFA laws, they had to increase the barrel length to 16". With most modern versions of the Dissipator upper, a carbine or mid length gas system is used for reliability reasons. The low pro gas block will be hidden under the rifle length handguards.

Anyway here is some information all about the Dissy

And to stay on subject. YES Palmetto State Armory is definitely responsible for helping spread BRD (black rifle disease)

I couldn't remember if you could go full rifle gas with a 16"... but that makes sense.
The original Colt 605 had a 15" barrel and rifle length gas system. But it had cycling issues just like the first XM177 carbines with the 10" barrels. Colt fixed the issues with the XM177E2 by making the barrel 11.5". Most current manufacturers of Dissipator uppers deal with cycling issues by using either a carbine or mid length gas system with the gas block hidden under the handguards.

I don't order much from them because most of the stuff I actually want is out of stock all the time. The stuff I have gotten from them has been great though. I have helped a couple friends build PSA kit rifles and they have all worked and shot very well. I am also a fan of the Dagger pistols. About the best value for the money there is. I have a complete Dagger compact that I only paid $250 plus $25 transfer, and also a couple dagger uppers on P80 lowers that all work great.

My last AR build wasn't a build at all... I ordered what I thought was a 16" middy upper 'kit,' and what I got was a very nicely assembled complete upper, ready to go. Me being me, I pulled the barrel and gas tube to make sure it was assembled and torqued right... which it was.

Basic PSA build L... what's not to like?

The only complete AR15 uppers I have bought from PSA has been my A4 6.8 SPC upper and my 18" stainless steel 223 Wylde upper. I have been very happy with fit/finish and accuracy of both uppers. I also have a complete PA10 308 upper but I never got around to testing match grade ammo in it yet. It does fine with Winchester White Box 7.62x51 ammo but hates Norma Tac 150Gr ammo.

I've bought from PSA and it hasn't ruined my life. To the contrary, their inexpensive components have let me experiment with new-to-me cartridges. I was never an AR guy although I've owned several; 5.56 never really floated my boat. But being able to economically build rifles in 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC got me enjoying the platform. I can eat just one Lay's potato chip.

My only little issue with PSA is I paid an extra $10 for a stripped American flag-engraved lower and they shipped me a regular one- it even had the correct serial number on the invoice and was labeled "American Pride, Engraved." Rather than make a stink over $10, I just went ahead and used it. I can always have someone engrave it later.

Just got a complete 16" middy upper for $229 and a complete lower for $119, both with Magpul furniture. Haven't shot it yet, but everything looks properly assembled.

PSA is AOK in my book. 👍

NO, probably saved mine. Found prostate cancer vary early so I should be fine. Get checked guys or you may not have time for shooting. Thats my PSA story.:p:)
When they found my prostate cancer. My PSA was in the 7's. A few years ago. They did a MRI. It was a very small spot. The doc did a ultra sound guided biopsy. I think he got it all out. My PSA has been in the normal range ever since. He told me i'll die of something else.

I dont know about ruining my life but deffently helps take care of my extra money problems. Seems like everytime the bills are paid and theres still few dollars in the wallet i get the sales emails from psa and a few of the other usual suspects. I dont have no wife or kids and my bullboxer dont worry about what i buy as long as shes got food and few extra treats and chew toys here and there.
