I compete in Bullseye, ISPSA, and a informal steel shoot during the spring-fall season.
I shoot a 625 for steel and USPSA, M-14 for bullseye and may use a M-15 this year for steel and minor USPSA or IDPA.
I'm wondering how many on this forum compete in any type of shooting sport?

I Compete with a S&W 625 PC in IDPA ESR division and a S&W 66 in SSR.

I also use a Glock 17/34 in SSP and ESP. A Colt 1911 Model 70 in CDP in IDPA. So far the Last 6 month has been just revolver.

Bought a Ruger SP101 as a carry gun, liked it so much I bought a GP100 for IDPA. With Safariland speedloaders I can beat a few of the slowest clumsiest guys reloading their semiautos. I'm tempted to get the cylinders cut for moonclips.

I shoot IDPA with a 66-2 4", 19-7 4", and will soon use a new to me 66-3 4".

IDPA SSR and ESR with a smith 66 and a 25-5
ICORE Limited and Open with a pair of 25-2's

Nothing official, but I've done several local steel and bowling pin shoots.

Did a six-plate dueling tree with my 696 recently (.44 Special makes Major). Even with having to reload, I knocked back all six in 7 seconds. Only needed six shots at 50ft :)

All the autoloader guys but one needed at least two shots per plate.

I have been using a Taurus 66 in IPSC (in minor PF). Just got a S&W 625 and will take my first try with it this week. Two other guys shoot the same gun so if they show up, it should be interesting.

I shoot IDPA with a revolver.

I picked one up thinking I'd shoot it for a couple of months. I had so much fun that it's been my primary competition gun for about 1 1/2 years. I plan to shoot SSR at the S&W Winter Nationals in Feb. Then I'll switch to a .45 ACP revolver through June. After that, who knows.

One that I didn't see is ICORE.. A specific organization for people to compete in that is based on Bianchi, USPSA, and Steel. It takes stages and classifiers from all three. It uses time plus on the NRA D1 tombstone target. I shoot ICORE with either a moonclipped 5" 627-5 or a 6.5" 610 utilizing moon clips and 40 S&W ammo. The yearly Championship is held in Morro Bay, California usually in June. We get people from all over the world. Last year we had a pretty strong contingent from Australia that made the trip.

There is also the dedicated people who shoot IHMSA (Long range handgun sillouette) with revolvers.. I wish I could find a local range I could take my new 7.5" 657 to.. I used to shoot that one with a scoped T/C Contender, but there were a fair amount of people using Redhawks, Blackhawks, and Dan Wessons.

I shoot a 625 JM in a local league.Once you get the reloading sequence down with the big Smith it's very competitive.

Shot the first Idaho State IDPA match in 2005 with a S&W Mod 15......compete regularly with a Mod 19 and aforementioned 15. I even shot a couple of local IDPA matches with such diverse guns as a Mod 29, Mod 25-5, and a 2 1/2" Ruger Speed-Six.

We have an informal action pistol-style competition at a local range. The only separation or category is iron sights vs. red dot sights. The vast majority use autos but I prefer a S&W 6" Model 29 with medium power 44 Specials. (I'm meticulous about keeping the cylinder clean.) For the rimfire portion, I use a S&W K-17 with 8 3/8" barrel.

Several regulars in the group compete on the national level in action pistol, using autos. I usually finish in the middle of the pack. Given my shooting skills (or lack of them) I'm happy with the revolvers.

S&W 10-9 in IDPA. Haven't had time/energy lately but I was getting pretty good with it. If I had enough speedloaders and money for ammo, I'd shoot IPSC. Fewer rules.

66-1 For IDPA SSR (4" and 2.5" for BUG match)
625 For IDPA ESR
6" 625 for USPSA & steel (barrel from a 25-2)
6" 19 for ICORE
25-2 for bulls eye 45
6" 19 for other CF bulls eye
617 for Rim Fire bulls eye
