Enough that ATF or LEO might be concerned
I never answer questions like this directly because the ATF and many anti-gun LEOs are always looking for reasons to give you a hard time.
Even though I am a law abiding citizen with no criminal record and have a C&R FFL and a CCW permit, many folks get nervous if they hear you own more than a few guns. Every gun I have was bought legally. I don't do the private sale in the parking lot thing no matter how nice the gun nor how good the price.
I have been collecting for over half a century and I average between 5 and 6 guns a year. You do the math. My garage has two bank vault doors on it and the original garage door has been removed and the opening filed with solid concrete reinforced with #5 steel bars. I built nice gun racks around the walls that have locking mechanisms to hold the guns in place.
Recently (for the last 2 or 3 years) I have been averaging over 10 guns a year. I want to get all I can before they put the anti-gunners back in office in D.C. I suggest you all do the same.
Stock up on guns and ammo as much as you can afford to. I have a sinking feeling that things are going to change very rapidly in 2009 when the new POTUS gets in office. All the candidates are anti-gun. Even McCain is nothing more than a closet Liberal. Look at his voting record. :banghead:
Let's cross our fingers and pray that the Supreme Court rules in our favor.

My stock answer when anyone asks is "more than one."
However, that's not-exactly-true when it comes to shotguns. Time to bump something up in the want list?
