Hi,
I see a lot of discussion about how much fire power is needed to stop a marauder in his/her tracks.
However as an owner of a small farm in the UK I have a mental image of most post-SHTF marauder gangs being made up of hungry city workers with their wives and children. They might be armed but would simply be 'normal people' and would not be Hells Angels or skin-head thugs.
I suspect that a couple of buckshot pellets hitting a couple of the group would make them run for the hills.
So, how many foot-pounds of pellet hitting the face, hand or other exposed part would make an inexperienced raider go and find someone else to loot?
(Clearly the situation would be very different if the raiders were gangsters or ex-military)
I think about 12 foot-pounds would do it.
Any opinions?
