But, the Rem. Model 7 has never (as far as I know, and others should back me up on this) been produced in .270 Win. or ANY OTHER long action cartridge.

to the best of my knowledge this is an accurate statement.

Interesting collection BBM. You must have spent most of your money on the numerous African safari’s you went on.

About 5. I want maybe two or three more, but aside from those 5 is more than I actually need.

I hardly get a chance to shoot one of my rifles, whats the point in having $10,000 in rifles that I can't shoot?

In fact, I don't think that there even IS a cartridge called .404 Gibbs. There is a .404 Jeffrey, but .404 Gibbs???

I found this at Outdoor Life. Apparently 404 Gibbs does exist. Don't know about the lever action though.

The one great limitation to the ingenuity of wildcatters has been the limited availability of workable cartridge cases. In recent times, though, the influx of plumper but once-hard-to-find brass, such as the .404 Gibbs and .416 Rigby, has wildcatters downright giddy. Not only do these pudgy cases offer a higher ratio of propellant capacity to length, but they are also free of the often troublesome belt of the traditional H&H Mag. case. (Contrary to widespread misinformation, the belt does not increase strength; it is only for headspacing.)

I hate to call b.s. on anyone. But, the Rem. Model 7 has never (as far as I know, and others should back me up on this) been produced in .270 Win. or ANY OTHER long action cartridge. It is a, short action only model.

According to Blue Book, there are at least two versions of the model 7 chambered in .270 WSM.

I like how on mundane guns, he knows the brands, but on the super expensive exotic double rifles, where one would be proud and make sure to go out of their way to describe the make in detail, all he lists is a *caliber*, as if that were a rifle description.
I guess when you pay 5 or 6 figures for a rifle it's easy to forget who made it... :D

I have "a few"...that is as close to a number as you will get from me.

None of them are "exotic", some are rare, some are discontinued, some are old, some are new...most are bolt actions, several are lever actions, 2 are pumps and 8 are semi auto's (soon to be 9....I'm getting a Remington 750 carbine in 308)

I've never been on any African safari's...probably never will, but I would like to...my little collection started when I was 8 years old with an old Winchester single shot 22.

I just like having them...who cares if I ever shoot them...a mans gotta have a hobby, right? And who, in their right mind would collect stamps or baseball cards? (no offense to any that do...just making a point that its my hobby and investment and I enjoy it)

I owned a bunch, then that nasty divorce came up:D

Rifles + handguns paid for the lawyer. I got the house, truck, and kids :)
