This is just a curriosity question.

I imagine that competitive shooters are very picky with their ammo loads. I have also heard that they use different neck tension to get a more precise release if you will.

I am assuming that if this is the case the neck tension will be less than "normal" as I have seen oversized neck sizers.

Is set back an issue if you load a full magazine of non cannelured bullets? It would seem that the recoil would have greater effect the farther you go down in the magazine.

consistent neck tension is a key to accuracy. it doesn't necessarily have to be light neck tension, but that is usually the easiest way. clearly, you need to use enough tension so that your bullets don't move under recoil.

Some matches, like NRA F-class require single feeding. you are not allowed to use the magazine. So it might not be an issue, depending on what you're doing.

Forget the cannelure. No cannelure on match grade bullets.
The .223 doesn't have enough recoil to require a crimp. Crimping is for heavy recoiling cartridges and lever actions. Detrimental to accuracy anyway.
How many rounds loaded will depend on the course of fire, regardless of the rifle used. NRA Service Rifle and Match Rifle isn't the same thing. Service Rifles include the M1, M14, M16 and their commercial equivalents.
Match Rifle are equipped with metallic sights, any sights, or scopes. The type of sights you choose on your rifle will determine the division of the rifle.
Match or Service rifles need at least 5 rounds of ammunition and should be adapted to rapid reloading, if you plan on competing in across the course matches.
