I keep adding to the pile and have never parted with one---except that my kids may have one or several at any given time. I think about 44 as of right now...which sounds like a lot until you figure in that more-than-several are family legacy guns that I am caretaker of but have rarely, or never, shot. But then again, some ARE family legacy guns that I LOVE to shoot and have. When I retire I will need to do some harder thinking....

Plenty of tin foil hats, so I am in good company

The actual poll break down is fascinating, to me, though. Not what I expected, but no reason as to why I was expecting, what I was (numbers somewhat following age)

I got out of HS. I had A shotgun.
I got out of college. I had A shotgun, A deer rifle and A .22 rifle.
Wasn't long and I bought a revolver.
Then, the hoarding began.
Inherited some, that I take afield, at least once a year.
It truly is an addiction. That I have not intention of curing, just continue feeding.
I am reaching an age that I am slowing down. Acquisitions are becoming more of 'i should get that for (whichever grandchild)', instead of, 'i want/need that.'

Fascinating

It's not paranoia if they really are watching you.

I have heard of guys that wouldn't purchase through a dealer because they fear eventual government confiscation. I would imagine they don't answer internet polls.

Seems like there’s some paranoia here... I’ll admit I’ve got more than I need or shoot. As my interests have changed, I’ve purchased rifles I’ve wanted. I’m trying to sell those I no longer shoot.

Sorry Pat... Those are 16" 45 caliber Naval Rifles. A gun is smoothbore.:p

Source, BT2 on the USS New Jersey 1985-87.

Hmmm…I guess 5”-54s weren’t guns? That’s what we called them in Gunnery School and aboard my ship. But, then again, I was a GMM2 and only helped out on the guns on occasion. We kept our rifles in the Armory.

Aweful lot of these types of threads lately. For the record, I don't remember how or when I washed up on that beach, but indelible in the hippocampus is the sinking. I believe a similar testimony was accepted as fact not too long ago.

Luckily the most paranoid people are not required to answer anything, or be honest.

Sometimes a few of them on similar topics reply as if somebody is Forcing them to answer, or somehow reply……..o_O Who is clicking the computer mouse?
I don't get it either... If they don't want to share, simply do not participate. I don't see the point in posting just to let everyone else know that you aren't going to participate in the thread.

Viewing the other thread, I thought a poll would be in order.

Strictly curiosity, we call probably know how they answers will fall.

How many guns do you have?
Prob between 40 and 60... I have not counted.

As I gotten older, I am more interested in steel framed and higher quality gun vs Glocks, micro 9mm, and all the other less expensive and polymer stuff. The number of guns I own will probably drop drastically as I sell multiple polymer snd budget guns to help fund one $1000-$2000 pistol. I went from carrying and only being interested in small, light, carry sized polymer pistols to prefering to carry bigger 30oz +/- pistols.

I own more than the average gun owner, but I don't consider myself a collector any more. My collection has reached my desired number, and I am no longer looking to add to it. If I do get another one, it would just be to replace something I already have.

I myself am not a collector/accumulator. Past the midpoint of my seventh decade, I have a few but not an extensive collection.
