HOw much does the box add t 3 screw Ruger?

I am replacing my stolen old pal, Ruger #9992 in .41 Mag with a .357. I had trouble shooting the big magnum so I am getting the lighter gun.

Gunbroker has many listed for under $600. Some with black grips sell for less. Some with the box sell for more, but not much.

How much is the box worth? It's nothing to me but you never know. I might not be able to shoot a magnum handgun someday.

On a similar topic but not quite the same, I have a set of Roy Rogers cap guns I got for x-mas long ago and the pristene box is actually worth more that the set.

My dad said he knew I was going to be a collector because I opened the box, looked at them, wiped them off on my pajama tops and put them back in the box....he said I had watched him wipe off his firearms many times so the habit must have been inherited.

357 or 30?

The revolver in question is has Pachmayr black grips and a worn box. Starting $499. but could go higher.

Serial number is 30-789XX. I know these came in .30 Carbine. Can the seller have a .30 and not know it? I thought Rugers' first two digits were caliber.

Ruger started using the 30- prefix in 1969 according to their website. It has no relation to caliber/chambering.
