How much does this cost

Ummmmm..... It depends.
Are you talking about a very basic cheap one like an H&R or Rossi?
Or a nice one with fact wood made by one of the higher end companies?

You could run the gamut from about $175 to probably a thousand times that amount if you commission Holland and Holland to build one for you.

Making the assumption that you are talking about the lower end, H&R break barrel type, my semi-educated guess is $75-125 used, $150-175 new.

Sorry if the guys were rough on you. I personally would like an old used but well kept .410 myself..... unfortunately I want it to be a Winchester 37 and not a old I&J or some such and if you do those searches you can see whay I said unfortunately.

I would not mind if some family member gave me an old I&J or H&R or some such this week that I could ruin by cutting the barrel back to 20 inches or so, putting on some type of front sight and tossing it under the back seat of the truck myself......Of course I have been suggesting to family members they give me a beater single shot for Christmas since 1966 and no luck yet.

A nice older Stevens 94 will cost you ~ $100 but you can find beater versions in pawn shops for $65-75. They are great old guns, reliable as rain on a picnic day. I've got one, use it for pesky-critter dispatch around the farm.
