I picked the $250-500 range, thinking it would be just a tad over $300. Once I started doing the math, it got up to $600 real quick... and I still haven't figured in a half-dozen or so range trips.

I'm supposed to be saving money, not spending it! Now I wish I hadn't opened this thread lol.

<$250... and all on the 3 P's... powder, primers, and projectiles.

January, February, and March are pretty slow shooting months up here so cleaning, repair, and reloading is good winter work.
Tinpig

I have bought a Kimber 84M, a S&W 622, 5 Federal bulk packs of .22 LR. 5 boxes of .30 Remington that was on sale for $12 a box, a couple boxes of primers, a pound of W748, 2 boxes of 30 cal 150 grain Ballistic Tips, and probably some stuff that I am forgetting. So I am in the $1,000-$2,000 range.

2009 Expenditures for Guns and Ammo

Two handguns and two shotguns. 500 rounds of 22lr, 200 + rounds of 38 spl and +P and about 200 rounds of .357 Magnum 158gr. Not to mention a few shotgun shells many cleaning supplies, Hearing protection, trade magazines etc. In excess of $1500 so far, and it is only April. I would like to tell you I am done, but I would be lying. Still want a rifle with a scope, a spotting scope for the shooting range. Oh yeah, also a nice O/U shotgun, a Kel-tec PLR-16, maybe an M1 Garand, a .45 cal auto and ...............................................Do you think I might be addicted?

No guns this year......putting it all into ammo and reloading components. $3000+ since January, will double that before the end of the year.

This year with guns,ammo,body armour, and bugout gear, I say 10,000. It is a great investment in my future.

I have bought two bricks of Federal 22 550 rounds and a case of Wolf SRP. I have since quit looking. I refuse to pay scalper prices for something I believe will be available again at normal prices.

I also quit buying cigarettes when the new tax came on.

Good for you Mr. Ashcraft. I will do the same if the price of whiskey goes up. I will not buy it.

As much.

Update alert: Just spend another $705 on a Ruger revolver and two new sets of wood grips for a pair of Walthers. Time to get the nose back to the grindstone; I've got another couple of odds and ends in mind before June.

Right about 2k. 2 guns ($900) the rest in ammo.

And I need to stop.

I was just thinking this the other day when I went to the store to buy 10 dollars in 410 ammo for the new gun I had to get and walked out 400 lighter in .45 .44 and 22 boxes which only 50 was for the 410. I was walking out of the store and wondering what the hell did I just do.

I have come to the conclusion that I cant go to any store that sells guns or ammo when I have any money.

Well most of you know that I have not had access to my Firearms from August 2007 up until February 2009...

So I had a little head start, there were no laws regarding me not being able to buy ammo, so I bought up ammo when it was still cheap...

Bought cheap, stacked deep, didn't get a T-shirt ;)

I'm committed to resurrecting this thread come the last week of December with an update. Unfortunately I won't be able to change my vote.:eek:

I have spent $2,000 on hardware alone so far this year, not including ammunition and magazines:

* $800 for a DPMS AR-15
* $600 on a new Beretta
* $250 on a KelTec P-32
* $300 on a Remington 870

for accessories i have spent $225 on AR magazines alone:

* $60 on 4 C-Products stainless AR-15 mags
* $100 on 5 LAncer Systems L5 SR-15 magazines
* $40 on 1 30 and 1 20 round Magpul P-mags
* $25 on 1 CCMG Immortal magazine.

I picked up a few spare magazines for various pistols this year as well. I have no idea how much i have spent on ammo, but iv been trying to buy 223, 32acp, 9mm, 22LR, and 40S&W as much as possible.

Oh yes, I only make $9,000 per year. ;)

With my purchase of a Remington 700 SPS Tactical, back in Feb '09, I've been dropping dough on reloading components, brass, powder and bullets. The total so far is close to $750. I've got enough stuff to load 500 rounds, that'll suffice.:) I got one hell of a deal on the rifle, $525 with Nikon Pro-Staff scope already mounted and zero'd.:)

jarhead, don't feel bad. I'm only a little bit behind you at probably $13,500 total.

The gun industry must be loving our panic right now. When I was at the LGS yesterday picking up a shotty I had on order, I was told that Glock has 75,000 guns on backorder. I can't verify that, but if it's true, it's impressive.

Let's see... A Bersa .380 and 300 rounds of ammo $350, Remington 700P w/scope & Harris Bipod, case and extra set of rings, great deal couldn't pass it up, $900 and a couple hundred in reloading equipment os maybe $1,500?

Not as much as last year. If I could find primers, powder and bullets at a descent price I'd surely spend or have spent more.

How much money have you spent on guns and/or ammo in 2009 so far?

A little more than all of it.

My gun/ammo money = Cash saved up from odd jobs and scrap metal recycling

I spent all that I had saved up over the last 6-8 months, plus a little more that I borrowed from myself.:)
