How old is my Colt?

I just picked up a 1911 a few days ago and I would like to get an idea of its age. Its a Colt stainless Government model, series 80, serial number SS437XX. Pics coming soon. Any info on when it was made would be great!

Call Colt. They will tell you what year any gun was made for free; anything more cost money apparently.
