Hot water, use soap if you like bubbles. Use a tooth brush to get the nooks and crannies, dry off. The hot water heats the metal up so it dries quicker. Stainless will rust, so make sure you get all the little spaces dry. Apply a good oil or wax the exterior.
I usually clean my stainless ROAs in the sink with dishwashing soap and water but getting in rather late the other evening after shooting I decided to try the dishwasher method. I removed the grips, cylinder and all the nipples. I gave the nipples a good brushing with a brass brush in soapy water. I put the gun with hammer at full cock to allow plenty of spray into the action and the cylider in the dishwasher and just let it run the cycle with the same detergent that I use for dishes. It came out sparkling clean. After it finished washing I gave it all a good rinse with hot water and I followed my usual drying method of putting the gun (minus the grips), cylinder and nipples on a sheet of aluminum foil in the oven at 175 degrees for about 30 minutes. After cooling I use a blend of 80% starting fluid (ether) and 20% Eezox lube. I use a rechargeable aerosol can for this. The spray goes on really thin and gets into all the internals and in a couple of minutes the ether evapoates leaving a light even coat of the lubricant/protectant on everything. I generally always use the same drying and lubricating proceedure but this was the first time I actually put the gun and cylinder in the dishwasher. It worked so well I think I will continue with this method.
