Removing glassbedding compound

Never tried or heard of vinigar, but the acedic acid in it might work, I've used mineral spirits to clean the stock of excess compound that squeezed out, but now I just let it set for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. when it like a rubber and cut it off with a piece of wood sharpened like a knife blade. Doesn't scratch metal or wood. We can come up with lots of tricks it seems. Al
