Alright so here is my prediciment. I have been looking for an outdoor place to shoot somewhere near my house. Last week I took a drive up to Hagg Lake which is a local fishing/ boating place. Basically I was just up their for a drive. While I was up their it struck me that there are a lot of old logging roads and other such areas that are not part of the county park. It dawned on me that these spots would be a lot of fun to target shoot in. However I really want to make sure that its legal before I end up in hot water for not checking things out properly.
On the county Sheriff Website I found a "Shoot/ No shoot" map that outlines the part of the county that prohibits discharge of firearms, this area is at least 10miles OUTSIDE the no shoot area. As far as the city its in, its the City of Gaston which has a tiny population and no city government website that I can find.
I guess I am asking if their is an easy way to check if I can target shoot up their. Also I know that I dont want to shoot on private land for obvious reasons. Is their an easy way to find out if a given section is public or private.
