I have a firearm I'd like to sell that has a stainless bead-blasted slide that has a fingernail length scratch on it that I'd like to remove prior to selling. Are there any DIY tips or methods to seamlessly removing the scratch?

If you buff out the scratch it's likely to show up as a smooth spot. Might be better to leave it alone or buff the entire slide.

If it's bead blasted, you're going to need to re-blast it to do it correctly. Any other method of localized treatment will only make it worse.

Unless you want to go thru that expense, I suggest you just sell it as-is.

Dremel

On my satin stainless ROAs and S&W 686...I have used Dremel Abrasive Buffs
180 and 280 grit....at low speed to eliminate surface scratches and bright rub marks.
At low speed the buffs do not brighten...but rather blend in a dull satin finish...

it depends on how deep the scratch may be..
