how to repair this stock?

thanks for the help. the circle indentation is from the set screw for the cross bolt safety. not sure about the lower portion. i'll pull the stock again and check it out. perhaps i'll try bedding the ends.

I suspect that the stock is resting on the set screw and too much of the recoil force is being transmitted to that one tiny spot, hence the crack near it. I'd relieve the stock at the circular dent by drilling the dent slighty larger and deeper and then bed the rest.

well, i drilled the spot where the set screw was making contact. slightly larger diameter and maybe 1/16th" deep at best. i also filed the face of the wood on that side as it wasn't completely flat. i had it out today for a range session, then pulled the stock to inspect...nothing to note. i'll keep an eye on it, but hopefully this has cured it and the crack won't return.
