must be feeding his kids wheaties. The mosin safety is humbling. If you have your ear close to it you can hear Ivan Drago say "I must break you".

sounds like he needs to either take it to a gunsmith to look at it or take out and smack the bolt open and closed a few times. Gunsmith isnt gonna charge to handle it and give you his or her thoughts and an estimate.

I have arthritis in my thumb so I don't use it. I set it once on an empty chamber just to see how it worked. I waited until my son came by and asked him to take it off. I concede, Ivan wins.

Use that little funny shaped tool to check your firing pin protrusion. The one with the slots in it. You can find vid's on you tube. Easy as pie!

This was my thought too. Don't guess. Use the tool that was designed for checking the firing pin depth.

FWIW - there's a guy on eBay that sells these modified Mosin cocking pieces with a ring on them. I have one on my 91/30, reasonably priced, easy to install, works very well. But I rarely use it because the only time my rifle ever has a round chambered is when I'm pointing it at a target.

lol thats too true, I've never felt so weak as when my face gets red trying to rotate that beast. I doubt any of the red army soldiers even used them. If they had they would have certainly lost the Eastern front for the allies. Stalingrad would have been about 3 days.

I just put two in and pushed them as far into the mag as I could and cycled it until they arrived at the top it would close on neither and has me questioning If I have been duped
I shot my Mosin today and was able to recreate you're problem. You can open the bolt far enough to load cartridges but if it's not all the way to the rear, it will not let the cartridges come up enough to feed. Try pulling the bolt all the way to the rear.

new problem the round comes to the top but when i try to move the bolt forward it cant move it up no matter how hard i push the round wont move forward at all but it seems to happen with only one of em.

Fill the mag up point it at the ground & cycle it, whats the big deal ?
live in an apartment complex if i walk outside with a gun the cops will be called. Simply because so many people have been shot around here
