How does one share news relating to gun owners here without getting kicked out?

This community has been great, and I've participated for years. But . . . how can we share news with each other here without getting shut down?

Specifically, the most important study and report on firearms abuses has just been completed, and the book has just been published. The author, Gordon Hutchison, posted a note here about the new book. This is the report on the gun confiscations in New Orleans. The thread was immediately closed, with a terse note that this is the "wrong forum."

Huh? This community has always taken the high road, and we discuss issues in a reasonable, responsible, and civil manner. It is where many go for updates and news.

How is an announcement of this important book inappropriate?

Is not THR a place for getting news?

Note: I have no financial connection to this book, but I did receive an advance copy. In writing about gun rights for almost four decades, this is one of the most important books I've seen.

Why can THR members not know about this?

My guess is that this is the book being discusssed

As to what forum to share this story?
I would have guessed "general" too but maybe it is "legal"...
generally if it the wrong forum it is simply moved though.
It certainly seems like an important story to me.
Maybe we need to buy some cold beverages for the mod's?
Oh, I love your show Tom, keep up the good work!

Send a Private Message to the moderator. Maybe it was in the wrong forum on THR? Maybe the moderator made a mistake?

Who knows? - the moderator who closed the thread. Talk to him.

Justin resurrected the thread. Thanks, Justin.

FWIW, I consider THR a forum.

General Discussions, Legal, etc, are "sections."

At least, that's what I've been used to with online fora for the last 20 years.
