Is there a site or some info somewhere that can tell the differences between all the different M48's, like, Bosnian, Yugoslavian, but mostly the Egyptian.

Any information that anyone can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Some I can tell with a marking here and there that they are the Yugo/Bosnian M48's.
But then the ones that have no markings except for the serial numbers.

Thanks

The Yugo M48's and M48A's have the Yugoslavian crest on the receiver. The crest consists of both croat and bosnian symbols. There is not such thing as a differently marked Bosnian rifle. Bosnia was part of yugoslavia in the 1950's.
The M48 BO (often confused as Bosnian, but this is incorrect) is the Egyption model. I cannot remember what the exact wording of BO is but it basicly stands for 'without markings'. These rifles do not have a crest on the receiver.

I've seen several rifles with large (I don't know what they are called Cartouches?) palm sized markings on the stock- either in a shape of a fleur-de-lis (serbian) or a crescent moon and star (muslim - probably Croat?) That were probably carved or stamped into the stocks by different factions when Yugoslavia was at war.

Yes I know about the crests, those are the easy ones to figure out. LOL

So basically if they have no crest then they are Egyptian?
I only ask because I ordered 30 Bosnian M48's and about half of them came with NO markings except the serial numbers. And am trying to figure out what to sell them as.

Thanks again for everyones help.

Some guns had the crest removed prior to being sold. I have a FN Belgian police carbine that has no crest on it.
