Hey yall, I've read a few mentions here and there about HR 6257, which will be 2008's shot at an Assault Weapon's Ban, but haven't seen anyone post about it specifically to urge any action, so I wanted to go ahead and get it out there. Here is the link:

H.R. 6257, The Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008
H.R. 6257 would reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act.
You can read the bill from the website, but even more than that, this site has a link to "Write your representive in Congress."
I had never written my congressman before, to be honest, partly due to the trouble of getting around to doing it (and I'm still pretty young and really just now becoming more aware of how important my involvement in influencing my elected government really is). However, this site has a link right on it that takes you to a House of Representatives contact page which helps you find your congressman and allows you to send them an electronic message directly. It was so easy, I couldn't say no, and I would encourage you to do so, as well.
