humorous gun ignorance from "forensics expert"

I lost 50 points of my IQ score from listening to that idiot "expert" I won't say any more, I just can't comprehend such stupidity.

o boy,

coffee spilled, monitor and keyboard severely damaged,

VoodooMountain hits it on it's head here, and gives you a great argument against most antis:
When you speak to an anti, you ask him (or her) when the media or the government get things right in their field of expertise.
Chanses are, the answer is 'never'.
Then you ask the same person: why should it be any different on guns?

I wouldn't even call that "humorous".
A sad babbling of firearm mis-information.
Remember any non-gun person watching that has a new gun reality.
Gotta figure out what the Assult Scopes are before they ban them.

Are these folks proud of their ignorance?
Most aren't even aware of their ignorance. The don't even know enough to know that there's a lot that they don't know.

But others are very, VERY proud of their ignorance. I've worked with a few very anti-RKBA people who were very proud that they had never even touched a gun, let alone learned how to actually shoot one. I've offered to take them shooting, teach them how guns work, and show them the difference between lots of different guns and cartridges. One was downright scared, another was surprised that I wasn't in prison considering that I owned more than 2 guns, and the last one told me that if he learned how to shoot it would make him one of the "bad guys". The reason? He claimed that learning to shoot changes your brain so you can't think logically. My guess is that he had friends who had changed their opinion on guns after having the chance to go to the range with a good mentor.

So, yes, some of them are very proud of their ignorance.

As for the video, I've seen some doozies on Fox News. Most of them are the standard tripe from people like Jesse Jackson where he said that the police couldn't get guns as powerful as the Dallas shooter was using. He also said that those guns were able to take down airliners at altitude. (Probably could.... if you were inside it, also at altitude or you were able to drop a rifle into each engine.) Some of the hosts aren't any better. Gregg Jarrett talked about how a "bullet button" was a way to turn a semi-automatic rifle into a fully automatic rifle. O'Reilly is always talking about how the "cure" for gun crime is a combination of full federal registration, 10-year minimum for any gun crime, and a nationwide stop-and-frisk policy. :barf:

It is not humorous, it is tragic. People like this say these things, and the uneducated public believes it, after they believe it, you can not change there minds. Oh yeah, she is saying these things to voters.
It is criminal is what it is. Distributing lies to the public live on television. The news channel and the so called expert witness should be sued.

Wow my win 88 lever with a scope is an assault rifle lol. i would like to know of the adapter she is talking about that will make my guns shoot faster.

If she is an attorney who was suspended from practicing law in her home state, maybe she doesn't have an area of expertise. Then again, maybe babbling a bunch of idiotic BS is an area of expertise for leftists.

You MOCK Ms Barringer and yet taken point by point she is totally VINDICATED by someone who took a little time to investigate instead of just snark! So there!!!

Video of the 'Double Shot Assault Rifle Clip Scope Adapter From Grocery Store' in action:

Doesn't he know that using non tactical silver tape will get you killed when you go up against a bad guy?

Funny thing is that I watched that segment, but more or less was tuned out of the gossip going on.

She is indeed an idiot. I'm signing off now to go email Fox about that moron.

Clearly we need to ban assault scopes. All they are good for is killing. If the thousands of handguns used in gang murders every year weren't equipped assault scopes, no one would have died. If just one person is saved by banning scopes, wouldnt that be worth it? No one NEEDS a high magnification scope.

Scopes can be purchased online. OMG! I agree, that was painful. They must have been in a hurry to get a "forensics expert" on camera to be interviewed. I worked in a big city crime lab for awhile. All kinds of experts there, but only the criminalists in the firearms section would have been qualified to publicly comment on anything firearms related. She is the worst I've seen and I wonder where her true expertise,if any, lies?

Very true. My cousin is an upper level scientist in one of the largest Forensic labs on the eastern seaboard. Her firearm knowledge can fit in a thimble and still have room left over. A couple times a month I get a few questions from her.

She ended a sentence with a long pause, then "very" was the last thing out of her mouth.

a second grader could probably win a debate with her.

I did send an email to Fox last night about her.

Now, you guts be nice--she pid a lot of money to get "forensics expert" printed on those business cards.

Mind, the original meaning of forensics was the craft of disputation. The ability to assemble a series of facts that assert a case. It can be argued, cogently, that all lawyers are educated in disputation, and are, thereby proficient in forensics.

The criminal justice system originally assembled facts to be used to settle disputes of law.. They later then branched into scientific laboratory analysis of items gathered as evidence. Which is how we have another connotation of "forensics."

Careful, I have a card that reads "Uzes wurds gud"--I'm waiting on the newsies to shine a camera at me here quick-like.

You think we'll see such flagrant, shameless, wildly fantastical inventions of language & technology about trucks after the France attacks? Even knowing that most journalists are just as ignorant about the details & tech of heavy work vehicles as they are firearms?

It is not ignorance that creates these gun-memes...

WOW I thought I knew rifles.

I was amazed to find out I didn't know that there's a single action rifle :what:

I was hoping for a picture

Wonder if it looks like a break open or bolt action or lever action or semi-auto

.

I've been looking for one of those double-shot weapons that you can buy in the grocery store, but I can't figure out which aisle they're in.

Serious question; why aren't 'double action' rifles with decockers a thing? Would seem to make as much sense for service rifles as it does sidearms.
