~~LOL!!~~

The Weather did its thing, again.....

Fact is "Time" for the Hunter is a nil factor, we go by Day and Night...
fatc is, night is fadeing fast and true darkness is no more untill August, as Dusk and dawn merge.

We hunt when were ready.

I , as a Hunter, must be ready,
The Weather must be right,
The animals must present themselfs, and they are picky too.
My ride must be ready.
any of these factors and you can just stay home, and I often do.

We built a home away from home, our blind as well

Well, were waiting for Geese, but the cold is holding them back, so the wise hunter looks for tracks inteh fresh snow....
We didnt think that the rest of the weeek was gonna be so cold, but it held that way.
Rethinking ourselfs, we decided to use our spare gas for a fur ride, actually tracking a nice pack of Wolves untill the gas was at 1/2 tank and then we had to decide on a big score with a 40 mile walk home or to return with whatever we got on the way home.....and that we did.

M-39 and 2 Czek LPS in the Head.....only the jacket of one was actually left under the skin on the exit side. Did a smash up job and completely crossed on through the skull.........I just love this stuff.....and damn accurate too.

Caribou

Are you crazy?? Hunting big bears with a Mosin?
Don't you know that anything under a 375 H&H will bounce off a grizzly?? You been lucky my man, very lucky.....:D:D:p:neener:

Many a Bear has met his demise at the wrong end of my M-39:D

Too many Caribou to count, or even care about........we eat and all is well.

Rags? I do not use decoys, jsut a blind at the right spot, right time.
I'll rebuild that blind tomarrow, as we leave in the morning wile its still 20 or so degreese, so the snowy slush isnt plowed but cruized over in a slick way. Saves gas by the pound.

Fact it, I tread that little lake that will form in front of my hut, and it will be the first muddy spot around. Might be today, it was almost 30 above, so with a LUK!LUK!LUK! on my voice, my bod in the blind and a Rem870 in my hands, I might "Git 'er Done!" this time around.....if not, I'm riding for Fur, as Billions of Caribou are passing and those that eat them follow.....and I have the gas this time ~~~~

The Wife cant wait :D

Well, mmm, I think you MIGHT get away with lead shot up there. I can't see you getting checked by a game warden a thousand miles from anything resembling a road. ROFLMAO! Goose and duck hunting have been my passion for over 40 years. I'd LOVE to hunt up there once. :D I mean, it IS different from anything I'm used to. We've got geese out the waz down here, but we also have hunting pressure out the waz.
