Hunting on the Olympic Peninsula?

Hi all,

I'm about to move out to the Port Angeles area of Washington, right on the north side of the Olympic Peninsula. I know next to nothing about what there is to hunt out there, or even places to shoot. I've lived in MI and NC, and done all my hunting on private land, relatives and so forth. Almost all the hunting was for white tail deer. And, with the exception of one public shooting range near Lansing, I've done all my shooting on private land as well. But now I'm off to a new side of the country. What's there to hunt out there? Where can I do it? And where can I shoot in general? Thanks for any help and information you can give me.

Blacktail Deer, Roosevelt Elk, Black Bear, Cougars...Be careful to know the park boundries.

I don't know about hunting but there is a shooting range in Port Angeles. I drive by it a lot.

You are lucky - that is a beautiful area and Port Angeles is a nice little town. Oh, and don't forget about the fishing and crabbing...
