Hunting rifles lifespan

Say you take good care of it and shoot at the most 100 rounds through it a year, how long you do you figure the average centerfire hunting rifle will last? I'm sure there are some guys on here that have a relatives old rifle and I'm interested to know the shape they are in after so many years, both looks and performance wise.

Such a thing would best me measured in centuries.....Seriously
 
i have some that are close to 50 years that function well but arent so shiny any more. I dont suppose that matters. I also think if more care was taken they would be in better condition. I do worry about the rifling though, but i think mine probably has fired more rounds than a 100 per year.
 
I have a Swedish Mauser built in 1902. Nice shiny bore ... good trigger ... more accurate than I can shoot it.

I've been shooting an 1899 built Winchester in competition for some time. Replaced with a near new (1990s) clone only for a better caliber.
 
Given proper care and not abused a good quality rifle will serve several generations of your family quite easily!
