This too shall pass.I feel extremely sad the young men coming up will never be able to experience the joy of plinking away the afternoon for pocket change.

(1) Nationwide majorities only support AWB’s when the poll doesn’t define terms in such a way that the respondents understand them; many respondents think they are giving their opinion on banning automatic weapons. And even with the deliberate conflation of civilian-only semiautos with military select-fire rifles, many polls in the last few years *still* have a plurality opposing new bans. Ban support is much lower now than it was in the ‘90s and early 00’s.I think we will see another AWB, which we have already had, and let's face it, majorities support it. I think any move to restrict ammo especially down to the .22 level will cause a massive backlash at the polls.
We really don't have an ammo shortage, we just have higher prices. What the future holds for those prices who knows. The dream scenario for the left is for us to be like Europe, no 'assault rifles', no 'hi-cap clips', limits on ammo, tightly regulated handguns. They'll leave us our hunting rifles and shotguns, they think that's what the 2A is about.
A massive backlash at the polls? What difference could that possibly make
What I don't understand is, how can they ban online ammo sales. I know they aren't shy about proposing outrageous and bold legislation but I would think it would be a glaring infringement on someone's individual right to self defense. I would think the only logical thing to do with that bill would be to ball it up and pitch it to the trash can.....
You're right, for a boy with a .22lr rifle a brick of ammo would be the best Christmas present ever, besides maybe a puppy or something.i dont remember a time when i could go blow up a brick of 22 ammo. when i was in the 6th grade i had saved for years to buy a marlin model 39.
i remember it was the most expensive 22 rifle at wal mart. 104$
i never could afford a brick of ammo to shoot all in one weekend. i cud afford maybe 3 bricks a year and when xmas came around my wonderfull gparents would get my brother and i each a brick. that was the best present they could ever give us.
if a boy want to shoot he will shoot. maybe not as much as he likes but he will still shoot.
mite make him a better shot?
Ended up getting a 555 box of Winchester, 325 box of Federal Automatch and 100 rds of Stingers ended up paying $140 for it all
Too much, a 100 rd rack of CCI Select was $30, a 250 rd box of Aguila was like $65? $20 for 50 rds of Tula match. There's only one place that has .22LR at a decent price but its rare he has bulk. He was selling the same 100rd pack of CCI Select for half the price. I got lucky one trip and he had a 1400 rd Remington Bucket o Bullets for $80. I have plenty of ammo but im only shooting what I buy lately and saving my stash for if things get crazySo you're still looking at $70 / brick ave. OUCH.
How much was the range asking ?

Just watched a local auction close. 800 rd bulk pack of Federal .22 - $150
What can help is to frequently quickly switch to funny cat videos on Youtube, or listen to the weird howling of the RR engines on the old RAF Vulcan bombers (or the F-104 "Widowmaker" engines) at old airshows etc.
Not kidding, it helps to avoid too much of what we can't change. Right now my wife has the news running non -stop downstairs. I keep the doors to the den closed--------------
* Ammo prices and news are now avoided as much as possible (in case my method of 'escape' isn't clear).
