Fired the range's Mil-Spec over the last couple of days and for a used and abused rental it had a great groups, felt great and was just plain fun.

Now I want to get a reliable, bone stock 1911 so much so that I'll forgo the Glock 20 I've been working towards.

Thank you Mr. Browning for the design.

Another vote for Colt....

But as long as it works fine, you like it and hit well with it.....whatever you pick will be fine.
The 1911 is primo..had one for nearly three decades and pack one each and every day(lately a Colt CCO).
No complaints and the only regrets is all the other 'new and improved' pistols I tried, when it couldv'e been more 1911's, more ammo, more training.

Another vote for the Colt. I have an old rollmark I like, even though it's kind of ugly. Well not so much ugly as the guy in the next county can see what I'm shooting.

get one of these:)
You'll love it! Colt WWI repro

I've kinda cooled on the 1911 platform...I've been shooting the range's P220 quite alot and love it.

Don't get me wrong I love the 1911 but the Sig is like (for me anyway) a new girl that starts flirting with me and distracting me.

I really wish I could make up my mind.

Anyone want to send me the money so I can buy both and find out which one I really like the best? :D

The Sig is a fine pistol....

but with a 1911 you can customize it to your personal preferences(simple is better), get a .22 conversion unit(Marvel) and if you ever get a powerhouse bug, a Clark conversion barrel in .460 Rowland that throws the .45 ACP bullets at .44 magnum velocities. It is also thinner for easier carry and abit simpler to maintain and repair. There is much to be said about the consistant, crisp trigger pull all the time too.
And the history of the 1911 is hard to beat.
But, it is your money. Buy what fits you best.
I started with a 1911 in 1976, tried everything else as it came out and kept returning to my starting point. Now I just carry a 1911. Now I wish I had put my money into more 1911's, ammo and alot more training instead of trying all the 'new and improved'. But life is an educational process and as such can be quite expensive.
My search for 'what's best' is over, your's has just begun.
Chose Wisely, learn well, carry always(if you can legally do so).

Don't forget those 15 round Glock 20 magazines that have been collecting dust for the past 10 years in your closet.;)

Keep shooting until you figure out what you want.:)
