... but after looking for a while for all the different IWB holsters available for G26, I realized they all seem to have one big disadvantage when compared to Glock Sports Holster.

They are thick.

It seems kind of pointless to buy a small gun & outfit it with a thick piece of kydex or a thick piece of kydex on top of a thick piece of leather.

They all share the same common trait, too - they are done in a semi-garage mode by people who definitely know what they are doing, but don't have access to the high cost industrial injection molding tools that Gaston uses. They have to form premade sheets of kydex, Glock just molds liquid plastic into a form. They can't achieve the same thickness or fit with the tools they have. Again, not to say they don't make great holsters.

So, I ordered a clip & kydex-rated adhesive strip, and will try to make an IWB holster out of Glock Sports holster. I will post the results once it's done. The tricky part is to find the right riding height, if that strip is like some other 3M strips I used in the past, you only have one shot at it and then it can be only separated with pliers & much swearing.

I'm not sure what holsters you are looking at, but that would surprise me. Kydex is pretty thin and relative to the thickness of your Glock it is practically nothing. However, you've got to do what you like, so have at it. Let us know how your plan works out.

I am, as I write this, concealing a S&W 1076 in a Don Hume pancake holster under a sweatshirt. I'm 5"8" medium build too BTW.

Why would I subject myself to the discomfort of IWB when OWB is more than adequate to conceal a full sized gun like the 1076? More importantly, why are you?

I use a hybrid holster. Leather backing with a kydex to maintain shape. The leather is maybe 1/8" thick and the kydex is half that I would guess. Neither are what I would consider thick. You need a decent barrier between your body and firearm to prevent moisture and for comfort. There aren't many people who can stick a firearm in their waistband and be comfortable for 9+ hours of carry. And my IWB makes a full size .40 disappear under a shirt, and I have been known to sleep on the couch with it still on.

Check out the "Klipt" and "Klipt Ambi" at the bottom of the Blade Tech link Moxie gave you.

They are quite thin, and about half the thickness of the standard Blade Tech kydex IWB holsters.

I have one of each, and they have been working quite nicely in the AIWB role.

The Nano's arent bad either.

Check out this place....

Ive got two off of there, and for about half of what Blade Tech and most other places sell them. You have to look around though,as they dont always have them for specific guns, and the prices do vary from time to time.

Thanks, Klipt looks very interesting, but it appears they only have Ambi for G26 ?

How do they ride ?

The Ambi is adjustable for two positions, one with the front strap of the gun just above the belt line, the other a little higher. Ive tried both, and settled on the lowest.

The straight Klipt rides at the belt line, basically the lower setting on the Ambi. You cant adjust it.

I think with the clip on the Ambi being towards the back, helps pull the butt of the gun more into your body, or at least it seems that way to me. Of the two, I prefer the Ambi.

Are you saying the other holsters you've looked at are thicker than the Klipt? In what way?

What I am saying is that the holsters I did see appeared thicker (Foxx and AlienGear).

Anyway, the clip arrived. It came with an alcohol pad and a strip of 3M double side adhesive tape that as I confirmed on another site is rated for bonding to Kydex.

I attached it to the holster at a slight angle, to provide some cant. It holds really well, should hold better after taking 72 hours to cure. I dealt with 3M adhesive tapes before and if they are properly applied they hold like nails. I was expecting to cut the belt loops off of the holster, but I can't feel them while carrying the holster IWB, so they will stay on, this way I can use it both ways.

The hook attaches to the belt very securely, however the clip I ordered is smaller than I expected (I didn't check the dimensions), it works fine with 1.5" belt, but could be too short for a 1.75" one. I set it so that the holster rides low for maximum grip concealment, with GAP plates on my G26 mags I can still get the gun out quickly & securely.

So, for now, this seems to be working just fine, at $14 for the holster and $5 for the clip delivered it's not much cheaper than some cheap holsters, but at least I know for a fact that Glock holster works very well. While I don't expect this to be a permanent carry solution, mainly because I would want something with more retention, this works far better than I expected.

Photos to follow.

Well, it both worked and it didn't.

The clip held the holster well. And the cant could be adjusted.

However, it just wasn't comfortable. Not really bad, just not very comfortable. Maybe the IWB holster idea is not for me, or at least not an all-kydex one.

Also, while the adhesive held, I don't know if I'd trust it long term.

So far, the easiest way to carry G26 for me is OWB in Glock holster, at around 2 - 2:30, comfortable enough that I can do it all day, in a car etc. The only concern is preventing printing in summer.

I carry a G26 (and a Beretta Px4 SC) IWB at the Appendix position and tried a few holsters. I personally find thick guns, IWB, in a Kydex holster to be unbearable. I bought a leather holster from High Noon and my problems were solved.

OWB is more comfy, IWB Appendix is the bomb for me in concealment and comfort *but* it takes the right holster, the right belt, and losing a little weight around the middle (for me) tied it all together. But generally speaking Kydex IWB is about the most uncomfortable for me....I could not get used to it.

Leather holster, even though it was thicker, was way more comfortable.

In the future you may want to try a Supertuck.

I have used three different pistols with these holsters. A ruger SR9c, a sig M11A1, and a ruger LCP with the minituck.

These are incredibly comfortable to me through the course of walking and sitting. The Sig M11A1 "228", is quite a bit bulkier than the 26 and carries quite comfortably with this holster.
The LCP with the minituck carries comfortably enough that I have found myself reaching down to make sure it's still there.
Cant and ride height are adjustable on the three I have had.

Yes, I think I am coming to realize that all kydex IWB is not for me.

I don't think it's as much a thickness issue as the discomfort of plastic pushing against my body.

I don't know if a 1/8" thinner gun would make a whole lot of difference, I would still need some belt pressure to keep the pants on and the holster in place.

The 2-clip design seems to be the way to go, even if it's not that easy to take off in a hurry.

What do people think about Alien Gear ?

No, you don't need "belt pressure" to keep the gun and your pants on. You need a good heavy belt and a pair of hips. If you don't have a pair of hips then you need suspenders. If you rely on pressure to keep the gun up you will stop carrying after awhile.
