Well I settled on a pistol a week ago here in navada..only took 15 minutes to buy and walk out the door with it.

I was looking around at a few pistols and these were my choices

Ruger p95
3rd gen 5906
3rd gen 5904

Well..I settled on the ruger.
I know the 59xx are built like tanks but if somthing happend I wanted a warrenty and aswell wanted somthing with a tac rail also..I love Rugers.....(fell in love growing up with my dads mini 14)

I wanted a 9mm with exposed hammer, decocker, safety, light rail, and full size

$409 later and a box of winchester fmj. I'm out in the boondocks with my buddy and his 15 year old cusin.

After explaining gun safety to his cusin and loading the magazines(came with 2 15rd)
We get out and take aim at a wooden sign that I put a target on...

At 15 yards I take aim and make a 2" group with 10 shots...

I must say this thing kicks verry soft..I love it!

My buddy made a 3" group

And then his cusin.. Pulled the trigger and it Jam....... Fail to feed.
I fixed the prob he tried again... And 1 shot later another fail to feed...
I unload it check it out.. And then I take aim...flawless..

Handed it back to him and watched him shoot

He was shooting limp wristed witch I've come to the conclusion that that was the problem.... It was only happening to him.... After I told him to hold tight and not let the kick go free and to keep the gun steady

It didn't jam once....

After we blew through the rounds I was upset I didn't have anymore rounds....

So what do u do in a situation like this?

U let your buddy barrow your car and give him 60$ to go get a couple hundred rounds of federal 9mm. 20$ a box...

While he left I grabed my 870 tactical from the back and 100 rds. Of 12 gauge..

He came back and we pulled Zombie drills, and target shot for the next hour....

I LOVE THE p95!

So what do u do in a situation like this?

Start out with a pickup-truck bed full of ammo :D :D :D :D

I have the now-discontinued P-90 (.45ACP). I only took a single 50-round box ONCE! I take at least 150 rounds now.

Yeah it does sound like a limp wristing related issue. You can always tell when you hand off the gun to a limp wrister because they'll have jams constantly, then when you're firing the same gun it performs flawlessly.

My Polish P64 and Kel Tec P40 both perform almost 100% in the hands of my brother or myself, while my wife had 2-3 jams per magazine.

Had an issue with a ladyfriend shopping for a 9mm. She shot a Beretta 92, Sig 226, Glock and a Ruger P-series just fine. Then we moved onto the BHP. She could NOT shoot the Browning without it jamming. Never made any sense to me. BHP and Sig were the most accurate guns of the rentals we tried out.. at the time the Sig was a LOT more $$.

Some gun savvy guy suggested at the time its a 'light slide in a heavy frame' vs a 'heavy slide on a light frame'. She hadn't grown up shooting pistols and something about her grip was just 'wrong' though I nor her husband could tell what the specific issue was.

My son is 16 years old. At the range firing my 92f, no problems whatsoever. When it was his time to fire the Tanfoglio Force/Police in .40 (is a poly pistol), every other mag a failure to feed. He is a small guy, about 125lbs., and was not holding the pistol firmly enough.

it was his first time shooting a pistol... so im 99% sure it was limp wristing....
i grew up shooting rifles..maily my 1944 winchester 94 30-30
and my dads old remington target master..

i lived in california..couldnt afford anything "fun" no high cap. or anything
now i live in reno...... LOVE IT

after i moved here i droped 470$ on a brandnew remington 870 tactical (i love it)
and then the p95... befor this i had alot of experiance with 1911s and revolvers.

if my gf allows me... next gun will be a 45....... and a gunshop b

The P95 is great handgun. That is not surprising Ruger Co. has number of winning designs out there. Their discontinuance after short production run of true round actioned 12br RGL was true disappointment to me.

I agree with the others, you picked a solid reliable pistol.....enjoy and start saving for ammo:)
