As per my other thread I went out looking at .22 rifles today. Unfortunatly, I didn't seem to get along with a lot of them. They either didn't sit right on my shoulder or I had a hard time looking down the sights (I'm very tall and thing) or they just plain felt cheap.

Anyway, while snooping around at the local Cabela's, I came across the Remington 597 with scope. Holy hell, this gun feels great great in my hands and the perfect weight. :)

On top of that, Cabela's had Mossberg 702 Plinksters for $99. So I grabbed one of those too just for the hell of it.

It's been a very successful day!!! :D

Have fun! The nice thing about .22LR is that you can practice and practice without denting your wallet. Get plenty of trigger time, and feel free to add to your collection as you go.

your remmy may need some tweeks, heck I would do them anyway. Go over to rimfirecentral, and look at the stickys at the top of the remmy thread, to find out what to do. the mossy will be ready to go, as soon as you feed it. You know what I like to do on those mossys? I like to oil the action/reciever up first, and handwork it a couple hundred times real fast. then wipe out. load up, and let it rip.

.22 is the best bang for the buck. And you will keep it for the rest of your life! Congratulations!
