So I am using a Redding type-s die and it has the bushing thing for exact bench rest sizing. The instructions said you don't have to use it, so I didn't and I also didn't need to prime the cases as they had already been, so I backed the decapping pin out so it wouldn't hit the primers. This wouldn't have affected the sizing of the brass would it? Also, One piece of brass I think I over-sized. It needed to be de-capped so I re-adjusted the die and the primer wouldn't come out all the way and I had the decapping pin all the way down so I screwed the entire die in a couple more turns to get the primer out. Could this have damaged the brass, or messed up the sizing?

Sorry for the wired questions, but usually this goes smoothly and this isn't for my rifle.

Thanks

A: If you have primed brass why are you resizing it? It's meant to be reloaded as it is and I doubt you'll see any accuracy advantage in resizing it. Backing the decapping pin out would not affect sizing of the brass as long as you didn't take it all the way out; just out enough not to hit the primer.

A: I doubt you ruined the brass. Lay it beside one of your unresized cases and if it looks to be of the same dimension without wrinkles in the neck or body, it's probably fine.

Now for some unsolicited observations. Reloading for someone else is likely to not be rewarding and opens you up to perhaps unwanted liability. Also, unless you're reloading for a gun with a tight chamber for which you turn the case necks, I think it's unlikely you'll get much better results with bushing dies than with regular dies.

Additionally with question the first,
You are just taking your brass for a short ride without the expander or the bushing

The Type-S die come 2 ways, FLRS and Neck only. I am guessing you have the FLRS die. When you use a FLRS die, it should always go fully down to the shell holder. Or if controling shoulder set back, almost to the shell holder. This makes sure you brass will fit your guns chamber. If you using New brass, i would guess the die did not touch the brass enough to matter. If the brass fits the guns chamber, your ok. I use the Type-S bushing die, works great.
