For dawn and dusk, I only trust Bushnell Elite 4000, and above, due to the lens coatings to help ward off fogging up in mist and rain, etc. Pricey, but they work if you have field fog ...

Or, Leupold VXR Patrol with fire dot. That tiny red dot is a godsend looking at brown fur into a woodline at dusk. You can concentrate on the animal shape and stance and let the dot float over the shot zone. You will not struggle with black cross-hairs against a dark background.

You wanna shoot long distance, that is a second scope on quick mounts. That is more a mount issue than a scope issue. Any good used target scope will get those steel plates out at distance.
