Took my Rossi 92 apart. I cleaned up the rough edges. What a headache getting the lever back in. Finally figured out why. The ejector spring color has to be centered. So the lever will fit over it. I was at it for a day and 1/2. The videos don't tell you that info. Also made up a cheat for the Ejector as you slide it back into the rifle. I cut a small piece from a brass cleaning rod. And inserted it to hold the spring color and arm if you will. In place while putting it in. Then i ''clicked'' over a casing to hold it together and remove the little brass piece. Lever went in easy then.

So for what is worse? A pre-mark4 Ruger 22 pistol or the Rossi 92? For reassembly. Glad the nightmare is over.

Don't know much about a Rossi, but my only problem with my Ruger Mark 1 was the first time I took it apart. After that I seem to have learned the lesson and have never had a problem in the succeeding 50 years. And after 50,000 + rounds.

Worst I have seen is Hi-Point. BB gun style assembly. I also remember taking apart a winchester 94 once, and having small parts fall out. That was the winner for worst for me. Helped me figure out how vastly superior the Marlin was. I've never had an issue with the Ruger MK. Had mine, a MK3, the most complex and difficult of them all, apart about 20 times. Aside from needing a hammer to get the two halves separate, it wasn't bad. Of course the Ruger doesn't really need to be taken apart, and when it does, you just need to take the bolt out. One thing people don't seem to appreciate about the MK, is once you get those two halves apart, its pretty much tool free disassembly of everything. Makes customizing or refinishing very easy.
I hear a lot of criticism of the MK, but never about the beretta 92, or CZ's, or Sigs or any other when it comes time to take everything out. It isn't really hard to take the bolt out of the MK.
But if you like simple levers, get a Marlin 94. Not many parts, and an excellent rifle all around.

There is a youtube video that explains in detail how to do this. I can't remember the poster but it might be by Steve'sgunz. There are lots of complaints about Ruger MK III pistols. I have never has a problem as I put the owner's manual on the table during the rare times I take it apart. Like mjsdwash said, there really isn't much need to disassemble it.

The one trick I used in the Rossi 92 is an empty cartridge engaged in the bolt face and at the same time inserting it just inside the chamber to hold everything in place.

Steve's vidio and parts helped me with three.357 one 44mag and one 45 colt pins go one way. New softer ejector spring and off with sharp edges. Easy as a holly carburetor.
