Living in Illinois I'm getting antsy, jealous and paranoid reading about all the cool stuff coming out, what you are shooting and what I'd like to try but can't.
Right now our dealers can't sell or figure out what they can sell in semi auto configuration.
Celebrate your freedoms and be happy you are not under the oppressive thumb of a bloated billionaire bully governor, a progressive
legislature, lib judges and left wing media.
Shoot your ARs, AKs, 10-22s, 1100s and G17s.
I envy you.

Fellow Illinoisan here.

I’m retiring next year and I’ll move before I comply. I have a sister in Iowa that will rent me a closet.
I hate the thought of leaving a nice house I built on 40 acres of timber and prairie grass with deer turkey and quail all around, but I will not bow down to a trust fund baby that wants to ban my firearms while he enjoys 24/7 armed security that WE PAY FOR!

It's really a criminal shame that these things are allowed to happen.
As I see it you have 3 choices.
1, stay there, keep feeling antsy and paranoid, waiting for your communist goberner to figgure out confiscation rules.
2, stay there and devote most of your resources and time into getting these things removed.
3, despite whatever self imposed ' prohibitions ' against it.........leave.

AFAIK, every state surrounding Illinois is gun friendly. I live in Indiana and we have constitutional carry. At this point the job market is strong and one should be able to find work about anywhere. It’s your choice whether to stay

Life’s all about choices. It’s easy for someone outside to say you should give up everything and move, perhaps not so easy in real life. I used to have a sales territory in central Illinois. The people were fantastic. Unfortunately, many choices are dictated by Chicago

I visited Chicago in the late 70's and loved it. The City was beautiful and the people friendly and down to earth as they come. The head of the family I visited was an avid elk hunter (I recall seeing his bolt action 30-06 hanging on the wall of his living room). I haven't been there since but from what I read and hear it's nothing like it used to be. What a shame.

I feel bad for the people in the states ran by oppressive Democrats and I'm afraid if we don't act now, the entire country will fall to their tyranny.
On the bright side, my state, Nebraska is expecting the governor to sign Constitutional Carry into law today, making us #27 (I think)
I don't blame the OP for wanting to move, people are moving out of liberal controlled states like rats leaving a sinking ship.

At 78 and with limited mobility issues, family all here in town, church, sportsmen’s club and my farm only an hour away, moving isn’t in the picture. I’m doing what I can with donations, activism in contacting politicians, and coaching youth high school trap team. I’ve never missed voting and have never voted for a liberal or anti 2A republican either.
We are screwed by three areas, Crook County, Champaign, and ESL.
Probably 5% of the land area and all the political power.
With billions you can buy pretty much anything.
Oh, yeah. Rifle threads. Shoot rifles. I have three newer single shots for the one good thing the state has done recently: straight wall single shots for deer.

I recently moved out of CA for the 4th and last time. I moved around a lot for work. Lived in CA 4 times.
1983-1988
1989 - 2004
2010-2013
2018-2022
Total 26 years

In the 80’s gun laws were stupid in certain counties. There was a 10 day wait on handguns but no restrictions on long guns. I belonged to NRA and CRPA - California Rifle and Pistol Association. I donated often to fight CA politics.
In the 90’s restrictions were tightened. I belonged to the NRA, CRPA and another group that the name escapes me now. I donated a lot. Wrote lots of letters and went to various public meetings.
In the 2010’s there were even more heinous controls. Did the same as before.
In 2018-2022 I saw that nothing we did really mattered. Lawmakers and Politicians talk out both sides of their mouths and continue their biased class warfare on the American citizens of California. I only moved there this last time so my wife could be nearer our grandson for a while.
States like California are lost on the Constitution and the residents there have Stockholm Syndrome.

I moved to West Virginia last summer. I feel like I have been set free again. The first gun I bought here was a Kel-Tec CP33 just because it had 33 round mags and it’s fun. ;)
